About Arcadia University

The Arcadia University Center for Education Abroad has been sending students abroad on academic year, semester and summer programs for over 60 years. Currently, we work in 11 countries and with over 70 different programs. Our programs offer every academic discipline as well as internships, including parliamentary internships in Australia, Scotland, England and Ireland. There are a variety of opportunities to give back to host country communities through service learning projects allowing for an immersive learning experience that goes beyond the classroom. At Arcadia, we are committed to helping students maximize their time abroad, and to providing an academic experience that integrates the unique extra-curricular resources of each program site into the learning process. You can count on our staff to advise and support you in achieving your individual goals and objectives as well as providing you with the tools to interpret and effectively deal with the challenges and opportunities of living in a new cultural environment.

About UNGE - The National University of Equatorial Guinea

The National University of Equatorial Guinea (Universidad Nacional de Guinea Ecuatorial, UNGE) was established in 1995 and continues to be Equatorial Guinea's only university-level academic institution. It has expanded rapidly so that by 2004 it includes six colleges distributed in two cities, Malabo on Bioko Island and Bata on the Rio Muni mainland. The colleges now in existence are Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Administration, Education, Public Health and Environment, and Engineering. Classes will be held on the Malabo campus. A broadband VSAT satellite link has been established between the Arcadia University campus and the UNGE campus providing reliable Internet capabilities. This is one of the first such satellite links established at a university in west Africa. To strengthen its academic programs UNGE established formal relationships with partner universities outside Equatorial Guinea. The first of these partnerships was with the Universidad de Alcala de Henares in Spain (1997) and the second was with Arcadia University (then Beaver College) near Philadelphia in the United States (1999).
